Sertao
For Sale: Measuring a huge 228 meters, able to host an army of 200 workers and capable of punching a hole into any subsea oil pocket over 40,000ft below sea level, £700,000,000 will bag you 60,000 tonnes of the finest hardcore drill ship money can buy. The Sertao was repossessed by Dlief Drilling in 2015 at the request of its owners, in order to protect their ship when its long term Petrobas contract was cancelled, after a 4 billion pound corruption probe emerged. She arrived on the Tees in November 2015 where the vessel was subsequently arrested by the UK Admiralty Court, and has remained here ever since.
Sertao is currently on standby with a skeleton crew, of which are doing an excellent job of keeping such a titanic work horse in tip top condition and still found time to host my curiosity.
How was that for a little bit of informality, my head hurts!
